- Socks with Sandals. One of the main fashion faux pas, yet so many people still do it.
- Novelty ties, shirts, boxer shorts, etc. Resist the temptation, you want to show style and that you know what to wear. Novelty clothes give off the impression that you are a clown, which women will not find attractive.
- Chunky shoes. - Shoes are a very important part of your outfit as most people tend to look at these first, chunky or tattered shoes give off the wrong message.
- Shiny or glittery shirts and suits. - Suits need to be black and at most pinstriped, you need to look slick and stylish, black suits are the only things that can do that for you.
- Clothes that don't fit. - It's not right, just make sure it fits you, it doesn't need to be tight just not really baggy and loose where the jeans are half way down your legs.
- Unflattering colours - We have a whole section on what clothes match your skin tones make sure you read it
- Too many colours - Too many colours draw attention, but not the type of attention you want, which will help you get dates. Limit your outfit to three colours max.
- Stained Clothes - Clothes with a massive ketchup stain is not fashionable and is not appealing either, it gives off a message of some one who is clumsy and doesn't care that much for themselves.
- Dressing for the wrong season - If you live in a warm climate and it is pretty much the same weather all year round then you are lucky, as you will only need one set of clothing. How ever if like most you live in an ever changing climate, then you will need more than one set of clothing. Wearing a big black wooly jumper in the middle of summer is not fashion and is not common sense. Wear the right clothes for the right weather.

Womens Flip Flops - History, Fashion and Buying Tips
During the 20th century, flip flops become a major fashion accessory with annual sales of women's flip flops reaching $20 billion. They're now available in lots of materials and heel and wedge heights. Some even claim to reshape your legs and bum!
As a shoe technology expert with years of experience in the industry I decided to write a short article to guide you through the various style and fashion choices available so that you make the right choice when shopping for Flip Flops.
Origins
This relaxed form of footwear is actually the oldest form of shoe known to man, with evidence on cave paintings that prehistoric man wore their own version of them! More recently they have had resurgence but from very humble beginnings.
Many people consider Brazil to be the 'birthplace' of the modern-day Flip Flop. Here, they were easy to make from simple materials and the shoes of choice for the very poor, retailing for only few dollars in the slums and shanty towns. From these beginnings their popularity spread throughout the country until strong Brazilian brands such Havaianas and Ipanema emerged and now lead the way.
The Height of Fashion
With flip-flops now having reached mainstream fashion, most women admit to having at least one pair. For many women they are 'the shoe' of the summer season, with ladies buying them in a host of colours, finishes and heel heights so that they go with every outfit in their wardrobe. They also cater for every pocket, with prices ranging from a few pounds to over $250 for a pair of Gucci flip-flops! At the same time they have been known to come as a free gift in some magazine publications!
Are They Good for You?
With sales now overtaking the sports footwear market, it is important to assess what affect this footwear has on our feet and general health. Since they do not have fastenings or tight pointed uppers you would assume that they have fantastic foot-health benefits. Furthermore, brands such as Fit Flops and Sketchers Shape Ups are marketing their Flip Flops for their toning qualities to the legs.
With my experience as a footwear technologist for the past 10 years I'd follow a general rule when choosing your Flip Flops - the cheaper they are, the more damaging they are likely to be.
Research has shown that very flat, non-supportive versions made of poor, cheap materials do adversely affect feet, legs and back development in women especially when worn for prolonged periods of time.
Many cheap styles offer no support to the inner arch and heel and do not possess any shock absorbency. This is leading to foot problems for a growing number of people. The best advice if you already have 'problem feet' is to stick to good quality brands like Riders, Ipanemas and Fit Flops as these offer extra support and protection. Even if you don't have foot or leg problems, keep your wear of Flip Flops to just a few hours every day, rather than day-in-day-out, particularly when walking long distances.
Also regularly replace them to ensure that the soles do not get 'flattened' during wear which will reduce the amount of support they can offer.
Buying Flip Flops On line
When buying Flip Flops on-line, use websites who have done the work for you, offering a good choice of colour, brands and materials. They should have them in the colours and finishes that go with most of your wardrobe. Some also advice on how the they fit, so that you can ensure that you are buying the correct size for your foot.

Men's Fashion Advice - How To Spot Fake Y-3 Trainers
In the world of men's fashion the name Yohji Yamamoto is well known, in particular with reference to the Y-3 trainers popularised through the Adidas range. The Y-3 range of men's fashion launched in the late nineties, since when it has remained a hugely popular fashion brand. But as with so many popular and successful brands it has been copied by a great many people, hoping to imitate the style or the look, or even pass off their copies as fake.
Men's fashion is full of such examples, and for the unwitting customers it can be hard to know whether the item they're looking at is a bona fide example of the brand they're after or a copycat reproduction which will almost certainly be very substandard.
Y-3 trainers are known to be not only very comfortable but also made from the highest quality materials. The manufacture of Y-3 trainers requires great attention to detail, all of which is sadly lacking in the many cheap imitations available. A quick look through popular websites such as eBay reveals very clearly the massive market for men's fashion items such as Y-3 clothing and trainers, and with many of these prices at significantly lower prices than the originals are normally found, the offer seems too tempting to pass.
Unfortunately though for those people who feel they've got a bargain, what they have actually got is a knock off, cheap imitation which not only won't quite look right, but won't feel as comfortable, won't perform to the same standard, and most certainly won't last anywhere near as long. It can be very disappointing for people to realise that all they have received is a cheap, poor quality imitation, but how can you tell if the Y-3 trainers you're looking at on sale are the real thing? What are the clues you can use to determine whether you're looking at real Y-3 trainers or imitations that will fall apart very quickly?
Fortunately because of the very high quality of both the materials used by Adidas and Y-3 and the attention to detail and manufacturing, it is fairly easy to spot the difference, but of course like anything, it's easy when you know what you're looking for. Here are the top tips for spotting fake Y-3 trainers, and making sure that the products you buy are genuine men's fashion and not merely men's cheap imitations.
First of all, have a feel of the trainer, and smell it. Real trainers by Y-3 are made from leather, whereas most imitations are simply made from cheap plastic. You can tell straight away either by looking, feeling or smelling the trainers whether it's made from plastic or leather. If it's plastic, walk away. But if it's leather, take a look at the laces. With real Y-3 trainers you'll find you're supplied with a spare, which you won't with most imitations, and at the end of the laces you'll find three very carefully engraved holes. Most counterfeit trainers will not have these three holes, and so this is another clue.
Next, hold the trainer up and look at it from the back. Real Y-3 footwear is sleek, contoured and streamlined. Because most fake products are simply basic trainers with panels and logos added on this is a shape that's very hard to forge. If you can see that the trainer is made from leather, looks and feels like good quality, has the three engraved holes at the end of the laces, has a spare lace and has a streamlined look then you can be fairly confident that what you're looking at is a genuine example of Y-3 men's fashion. However, to be absolutely certain it's usually best to avoid buying such items as Y-3 trainers from sites like eBay, instead buying from a reputable retailer.

Tights - The Personal Style
We don't look alike and we don't act alike, so why should we dress alike? Individualism in a world of conformity is freedom in every sense of the word. Fashion is and always will be one of the greatest forms of communicating style and personality. Fashion is an eclectic mix of everything that represents who you are and who you want to be. It is fact and fantasy it is an image that everyone who comes in contact with you will remember and fashion is only limited by your imagination.
In a society where most of us shop off the rack isn't it nice to know that there are accessories that can take an item of clothing and go from bland to "BAM"? Creating looks that are unique while adhering to the latest styles and trends and sometimes starting new ones. One of the fastest growing and most versatile of these trend-setting accessories is tights, which have gone from plain and bland to fashionable and sexy. Today's fashion tights are not the tights of "yesteryear".
When I was a kid, I remember wearing tights under my catholic school uniform and they weren't pretty or fashionable, they were functional, basic in style and color, black, white and navy blue. I wore them often during the winter months because they were warmer than knee high socks. Retrospectively, it's funny now because I was actually excited when the hosiery industry manufactured them in red, and green. That was then and this is now, today's fashion dictates change and screams individuality. Skirts and dresses are shorter and tights are a welcome accessory for self-expression, and style.
Today's hosiery are fashionable, an extension of your personality, expressive, fun, flirty and sexy. They come in a vast array of styles, hues, patterns, and textures. There is a pair for every occasion, whether you are going out with friends, a BBQ, a concert or work, there is a style, pattern and a hue for anyone regardless of income or gender. Not only do they come in a variety of styles and colors, you can find them in a price range that is affordable for you. Many department stores have special hosiery departments to display hot designers like, DKNY, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs and Dolce Gabbana.
What I personally have found is that people tend to think that the more expensive the product the more indestructible it is but $10 dollar pair of tights tear as easily as $50 dollar pair. Another great aspect about them is that they are easy to maintain. No expensive dry cleaning or special instructions. Rinse with either warm or cold water, use a mild detergent, dry and wear. This usually preserves the color and pattern texture, I also recommend air-drying over standard heat dryers to prevent shrinkage.
Ladies no matter what your personal style is there is something for you in the world of tights. My only advice is don't limit yourself, choose patterns and styles that flatter your body type and be creative.

Jump Starting Your Style For Men
I personally was never interested in "style". Growing up, I thought that women were the ones in charge of the whole thing. My father, clueless about even matching his socks together, was directed in his everyday work and casual clothing by my mother. As a result, I thought style relied implicitly on women.
After leaving the nest at 18, I had a wardrobe stocked with polo shirts and other stuff purchased from the preppy racks of dept. stores, hence super conservative and super boring. I blindly accepted this way of dressing but eventually realized that looking exactly like the ads, or like everyone else for that matter, was not fashion or style.
Not much changed when I got married either, as there was a tendency for me to leave style behind in favor of mortgage payments, and Home Depot trips. I wore clothes that were comfortable, but not stylish. I had things like Levi's, plaid shirts, a few suits that didn't fit well and the like.
Years later, I was single again at 33. In being single, I recognized my wardrobe was long past due for a fashion overhaul. Just by looking around at my male contemporaries, I really needed to.... because they looked good! It was like I had created my own time warp.... so I made a resolution right then and there to learn the tricks of the fashionable trade.
My initial inspiration came from the women I dated, who gave me pointers of what not to wear! So I decided, why not take them shopping with me. I added more stylish jeans, better fitting shirts, and began to experiment with more bold colors and patterns. It went well, and I started to look good and feel good about the way I looked.
Up until this time, I had only taken advice from those around me. Now, I felt, it was time to consult the pros. So, I began searching out internet sites, books and magazines. Looking at pictures in fashion ads, men's fashion shows, and reading articles on the subject opened up a whole new world for me. I began putting together elements from what I saw. I was mixing colors that I would have never combined before. At first, I kept it simple by adhering to the pictures. But then, I began mixing vintage, modern, and accessories... putting together unique things that I liked. It slowly started to become my own style. I titled my look, "Rock Star Semi Formal"- cool yet sharp, and it worked for me.
There's a saying that "Women dress for themselves... and other women". I began to think about this... especially when wearing my wine-colored velvet jacket, at parties or clubs. Other men would come right up to me and say, "Wow! That looks great dude!" I wasn't dressing for other mens opinions, but the message was clear. What these men were really saying was, "I wish I could get my style together!"
Style, is a reflection of your taste, life, interests, personality, and body type. These are all aspects that are totally unique to you. Your style is inside you right now. Do you like the way you look? Do you look forward to getting dressed? If you're as clueless as I was, but want to start your own style journey, read on. I will share with you what I have discovered about creating your own unique and distinguished style.
1> Check out fashion magazines. Some great ones are Details, GQ, and Esquire. Pick some up and see which one fits your life.
2> Make sure all clothing you wear fits you. A tailor can work miracles. Get all your measurements done, so you can order with confidence online. Stores like Men's Warehouse or a tailor will be happy to do your measurements for free. Regardless of your size.... if it doesn't fit, it looks like it doesn't fit!
3> When shopping, take along a shopping buddy. Someone that looks great all the time and knows how to shop. Maybe a woman in your life, a girlfriend or sister can be a huge help. They know what looks sexy and stylish on men, and understand color better than we do...trust me. You can buy a hot sports car that's has 400 hp and is car of the year..... but the first time a woman sees it... all she will say is, "Oh look... it's red!" Enough said...
4> Remember that you DON'T have to have a million dollars to have style. Your style relies on your taste and creativity. Clothes and shoes can be purchased at a discount, online, or in vintage stores. Online shopping is like having the whole world as your personal mall. I've pulled off interesting and stylish outfits for under a hundred dollars...including shoes. eBay is awesome for a diversity of deals and unique items.
5> Take risks. When putting together your personal style, try new things... always. You might be surprised with the results. Dress for you... not others.
6> Be sure to keep it age appropriate. A 50 year old man has a different life than a 20 year old. It looks just as weird if your dad dresses like you, as it would for you to dress like your grandpa!
7> Have fun and be original. Your appearance sends out a lot of messages. Make sure you're sending the message about you and your personality.
8> Accessories complete your look. Neckwear, hats, belts and jewelry all play a part. It's like icing on a cake...

Sustainability, Fashion and New York City
So what does sustainability have to do with fashion? We all wear clothes on a regular basis, so why not pick greener alternatives that are healthier for us and the Earth? Our everyday choices about what we buy and where to shop have a major effect on the environment, and it's even more dramatic when we take into consideration everyone else who lives here. What we buy affects not only the demand for the Earth's natural resources, but also how these resources are manufactured into products and how they are disposed. By learning about the costs of what we purchase, we can start making informed shopping decisions that will protect our planet.
The nonprofit Sustainable Technology Education Project (STEP) defines eco-fashion as clothes "that take into account the environment, the health of consumers and the working conditions of people in the fashion industry." I've learned through my research that cotton accounts for 10% of the world's annual pesticide consumption, which costs about $4 billion annually worldwide according to Earth Pledge, an organization that partners with business, communities and government to accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices such as green roofs, local agriculture and eco-fashion. Cotton is also among the world's most heavily irrigated crops, in part because water runs quickly off fields where beneficial soil organisms such as earthworms have been exterminated (J.C. Ryan and A.T. Durning, "Stuff: The Secret Lives of Everyday Things," p. 22-23). This has caused major water pollution, chronic illness in farm workers, and devastating impacts on wildlife. In the United States, cancer rates in states that produce cotton are significantly higher than in neighboring states that do not. The acidic chemicals used to process synthetic fabrics find their way into our rivers and streams, lowering the pH and destroying ecosystems. And according to World Health Organization estimates, one-third of the 500,000 to two million victims of agrochemical poisonings worldwide are cotton farmers. Leslie Hoffman, head of Earth Pledge's FutureFashion Initiative, believes that sustainable fashion is within reach and need not limit the range and quality of products that designers can offer, from couture to sportswear to home furnishings. By promoting eco-friendly products such as organic cotton, organic wool, corn fibers, recycled fabrics, biopolymers, natural dyes to industry and consumers, we can prove that style and sustainability can coexist - creating market demand and improving our environment and health. Other materials such as bamboo and hemp are faster growing, more durable, and more renewable than conventional textiles. The Inter Press Service article "CULTURE-ITALY: Eco-Fashions Find a Place in Shop Windows" also argues that recycling is another important component of eco-fashion, "not only for protecting the environment, but also for promoting conservation in big companies or recuperating materials in developing countries."
I was able to participate in a number of Earth Month events this past April in New York City. I attended "Turning Green" hosted by Teens for Safe Cosmetics, a league of extraordinary young women educating and inspiring awareness about potentially harmful ingredients in beauty and daily use products that may be linked to a number of health risks such as cancer. The event was presented by Whole Foods Market and consisted of an eco-fashion show and green spa displaying the latest sustainable, organic and green products. Eco-conscious fashion stylist Bahar Shahpar was able to showcase her works on the runway, where her designs use only ecologically sound materials [including natural buttons and unbleached organic cotton linings], minimizing waste and overall energy consumption in every instance possible. What's even more interesting is that I managed to bump into Bahar at the second annual "Project Earth Day" event three weeks later. Presented by the EGBNY (which stands for Emerging Green Builders New York, and is part of the national US Green Building Council), the fashion show is dedicated to the promotion of green design and creating a platform for leaders - both present and future - in the design industry to bridge their environmentally-conscious ideas and developments together. Its eco-friendly venue was the Teknion Showroom, which played a key role in highlighting sustainable techniques such as the use of compact fluorescents for accent lighting at the bar.
There's also been an emergence of eco-friendly stores in New York City. For example, Kate Goldwater is a 23-year-old NYU alumna who designs clothes for AuH2O, an environmental and socially conscious clothing store in the East Village. A few blocks away is Gominyc. This earth-friendly boutique carries brands such as Del Forte Denim and Loomstate and holds environmentally responsible materials such as organic cotton, bamboo and hemp. The store has been named "Best Eco-Friendly Fashions" by Village Voice 2006. MooShoes, Inc. is another example. It's a vegan-owned business that sells cruelty-free footwear as well as other goodies, and offers its services through an online store and in its retail store in New York City. It is the first cruelty-free store of its kind in New York City, and its slogan is "One cannot have fashion without compassion." Gaelyn & Cianfrani in Brooklyn is known for their signature material, often mistaken for leather, that's made by hand from recycled bicycle inner tubes.
We live in a wasteful society, and it has become increasingly clear that we can no longer ignore the impact of industry on our health, habitats, and resources, so it seems only logical for businesses to adopt more sustainable practices. But it's also obvious that the philosophies of eco-fashion and its savvy designers can change the consciousness of consumers in all areas of consumption in a revolutionizing way. So what can you do to help? Clothing swaps, rummage sales, and shopping at thrift stores or eco-conscious ones are some ideas. Other pieces of advice include buying what you need, buying products made locally, choosing products with minimal packaging, watching what you eat, reusing and recycling, buying low-impact products, looking for durable products, and getting involved locally. Remember: every step you take counts towards a brighter, healthier and more sustainable world for everyone.

How an Old Fashioned and Little Known Craft Using Herbs Can Help Ease Pain!
Most of us have tried canvas art at one stage or another, to form abstract paintings. As a rule people like to experiment every so often, so why not branch out into some other style of craft?
In my prior articles, we established that we can make use of herbs for a mixture of effects, as well as to benefit your physical condition. One capital concept which I can endorse, is using herbs to make wheat bags.
As an example, these bags, in fact, are used in the same way as you would use a hot water bottle. Hence, they are great for using to alleviate sore or painful joints, or muscles. To accomplish this you will require a quantity of dried herbs including rosemary, the bag itself, which you will have to make according to the size required, and, obviously, a quantity of wheat grains.
To be successful it is better to handle a very fine cotton, cambric, or else calico to make up the bag, seeing that this has to resist the heat of the oven or microwave. To begin with you will need to stitch up three sides of the bag. Next take your various herbs along with wheat grains and stow them into the bag, leaving just about an inch at the top.
The next section should be to stitch up the very last side. I feel it is better to attach a piece of yarn, or even a bootlace would do, to gather around the top and make a knot and maybe a little bow to secure it. Members of my family found this quite advantageous for easing the pain they suffered from having whiplash.
Anyone who has, in fact, suffered with this, will be aware of how troublesome and distressing this can truly be and any benefit you can find would be a blessing. These bags have got to be heated up in the oven or microwave to begin with, before you can apply them.
If you are using a ordinary oven it will evidently take a little longer, however if you own a microwave it would possibly take about five minutes altogether. Though, you will need to turn the bag over in this time. Therefore, when it is nice and warm, you can place it on the back of your neck and finally get some consolation from this!
We all get aches and pains at different times then I at times find it rather hard to believe that people haven't tried this treatment. So many people are crippled with back pain and lose so much time off work.
Others suffer with blinding headaches as well as migraines for days on end in a darkened room. Whilst women can endure agonies at their time of the month with period pains and for the most part stomach cramps.
For that reason you can grasp that these bags achieve a purpose in addition to being fragrant. Therefore, if you have not tried one of these, you don't understand what you are missing! Now is the moment in time!

Fashion Tips For Those With No Style
Sometimes it can seem as though fashion is overwhelming, and there just isn't ever enough time to make yourself look your best. However, there are many numerous simple ways that you can employ different fashion techniques to help yourself out on a daily basis. Keep reading for some helpful tips regarding fashion.
If you like a shirt or skirt think about getting it in more than one color. Because clothes come in so many varying cuts and styles, you're likely find it difficult to find clothes that fit well for your body type. When you do just get more than one so that you can feel great more often.
For men with thinning hair, a small amount of hair mousse can be incredibly helpful. Apply it to the hair from the roots out on wet or dry hair. The mousse will add some volume, without weighing down your hair. It will also simplify styling your hair, and help train it.
The basic black dress is essential for any woman's wardrobe. You can wear this dress for casual occasions by accessorizing it with a pair of comfortable pumps. You can wear the same dress for a more formal occasion if you put up your hair and accessorize with a pearl necklace and earrings.
Accentuate the positive. Look for items of clothing that show off your attributes. If you have a great waistline, look for clothing that features an embellished mid-line or add an attractive belt. If have a great neckline, draw the eye in that direction with a fancy collar or fun necklace.
A great way to help you look your best is to keep a good stock of button down white cotton shirts. This is important because not only do they go with many different other pieces, they are also safe for nearly every occasion and extremely easy to take care of.
Use your accessories to add color to your outfit. This is a great tip if you happen to have a large stock of earth tones or blacks and whites. Get a bright-colored tie, purse, or shoes depending on who you are and what fits you. It is a great way to stand out without having to be very brave.
If you have a lighter skin tone and you are looking to dye your hair a darker shade, consider dying it a dark shade of brown instead of opting for jet black. Choosing a brown tone is much more flattering since it will not make you look too washed out.
Use every ounce of your beauty products. If you want to get the last little bit out of products that come in tubes, use toothpaste squeezers. You can get the remnants out of a bottle by flipping it to its side or upside down. Also, you can take the top off to get the last bit of product out. You can wind up saving a lot of money by doing this.
Kids
If you are a mother, fashion is probably the last thing on your mind, But know that it is possible to look good and practical at the same time. Whether taking the kids to the park, sporting events or any other event, spruce up your look with a nice T-Shirt, knee-length skirt and a pair of flat sandals!
Do you want to just wear some shorts while hanging with your friends on a beautiful day? If so, then never wear visible socks with them. Children wear socks with shorts. Lose the socks if you want to look like the grownup that you are.
While you haven't been able to find time in the past, fashion doesn't have to escape you now. Dedicate some time to learning more about fashion, and continue reading up on different ways to incorporate it into your life. Remember the helpful advice you've read here as you work to include fashion in your life.

Smarten Up Your Man - How to Provide Your Man With the Rules and Tools to Choose His Own Style
Do you often find yourself saying to your partner "that tie doesn't go with that shirt, try this one instead" or maybe "why are you wearing those shoes with those trousers?" Or perhaps you are left wondering why he still dresses as a student now that he's 40+!
Many women say to me "I wish my husband could put a shirt & tie together properly!. They tell me that one of their tasks is to ensure their partner's or son's or brother's outfit is appropriate as he's walking out of the door in the morning.
It seems that we wives, sisters, mothers, girlfriends are the stylists (and often, the shoppers) behind our men's wardrobes. Some love this responsibility but more and more of us wish their men could think for themselves on the style front.
So, when they learn that their men can be taught how to style themselves, they jump at the chance of booking him in for an Image Consultation.
At his Image Consultation, your man will learn a number of key rules which will give him the tools to organise his wardrobe to suit his style at home and at work. He will be able to easily put together his outfits for business and social occasions.
Colour Analysis
We women can use make-up to make our complexion flawless; an advantage which men do not have. Therefore, it's crucial that they wear a colour near to their face which compliments their natural skin tone. Wearing the right colour shirt will make a man appear younger, healthier and make his eyes sparkle. Everyone can wear every colour but his colouring (hair, eyes, skin tone) will determine whether he should opt for lighter or darker shades, warm or cool undertones and how strong (clear to muted) his colours should ideally be. During an Image Consultation, your man will be shown how to assemble his wardrobe with coordinated clothing which provides maximum versatility.
Style Personality
It is important for our men to know and understand their Style Personality because it will provide them with the knowledge of why a certain style of dressing suits their personality and their lifestyle. A well dressed man will have an image which expresses his personality while also being appropriate for his workplace and social life. Whether he has a Creative, Dramatic, Romantic, Classic, Natural or International personality, understanding his Style Personality will be the catalyst in bringing his whole wardrobe together.
Build
So, now that he understands which colours are best for him and which image suits his personality, adding the finishing touches are crucial to perfecting your man's image. An Image Consultant will help him analyse his build (body shape, scale and proportions) and offer guidelines for clothes shopping for his build. For example, the fabric he chooses needs to be in balance with his build and the style of suit which will suit him best will depend on his body shape. Whether he should wear his casual shirts tucked in or left loose will be determined by his proportions.
Appropriateness
Being appropriately dressed for every occasion creates the best first impression he can give. An Image Consultation will show your man how to look the part, whatever the occasion while still following all his rules of colours, build and style.
In my experience, our men love to have the rules to hand which enable them to shop easily. They love having the confidence to be able to put together a suit, shirt & tie combination without having to ask us women for advice!

Fashion Tips For Every Occasion
Fashion trends come and go and it can be a difficult task to try to decide if a design is in style or not. Pundits, gurus, and experts line up to comment on what is hot and what is not. It may seem daunting to try to follow all of the advice out there. But there are a couple of easy steps that one can take to help ensure that there are not any fashion faux pas. Without memorizing a list of what is in style today there are some flexible suggestions to help anyone be more fashion forward in any situation.
First, consider the situation. "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening," said 20th Century French fashion designer Coco Chanel. Think of the bigger picture. While an oversized cardigan and nicely fitting jeans would be a great choice to get coffee with a friend, it would not be a good choice to wear out to the ballet. Think about the norms of the situation you will be in, and figure out how to apply what you own to that situation. As Coco Chanel said, fashion is not just about clothes but the way we live our life. So when deciding about the outfit the first rule of thumb is to consider the situation the outfit will be worn.
The second item to consider is the intention of the outfit. There is a reason why one chooses to wear or not to wear every piece of clothing or accessory in a particular outfit. Should hoop earrings or stud earrings be worn? Or should earrings even be worn at all? The answer depends upon the intention of the of the evening. Is the intention to show class and authority, or is it to have some fun and try to attract a cutie from across the room? Part of fashion is being viewed the way you want to be. So if you have one intention for the evening, but your choice of clothing or accessories do not reflect that.
The last suggestion is to be comfortable in your selection. Have you ever seen someone and thought, "wow, they can really pull that outfit off!" Part of being able to pull an outfit off is being comfortable in the outfit and having the self-confidence in your selection. You may have the trendiest outfit, wearing it at a perfect location, and aiming for the right intent; however, if you do not look comfortable or think you look good then chances are everyone else will see the same thing too. Keeping these things in mind will help you be fashionable no matter what the circumstances are.

New Style Tips - What's Hot
Are you looking for some new hot style tips to enhance your frumpy and lumpy look? Do you know you've allowed your wardrobe to become embarrassingly outdated and old fashioned and some new style tips could really revamp your look? Have you been concentrating on other aspects of your life, like your education and career, and your personal look and appearance has taken a backseat to all that, but you now want new style tips that will bring you up to date and have you looking hot and spice?
Whether it's your education, your career, your family or your friends, it's quite normal to find yourself staring into your closet only to realize you literally have nothing appropriate to wear for a new date.
Here are some hot style tips that you can to do give your wardrobe some oomph without emptying your wallet.
Easy Hair
A trip to the hair salon can set you back quite a bit, but it may be worth the investment if you go in to have you hair cut and styled in a way you'll be able to replicate at home. Today's easily tousled styles make it easy to look great without having to fork out too much dough.
Make a Difference with Make Up
Many women swear by high end, high cost cosmetics that could probably pay your rent. However, looking great doesn't have to cost a fortune. If you're unsure what colors suit you best, go to the cosmetic counter and try the free samples. You'll often be able to enlist the help of a cosmetician which can be eye opening.
However, don't feel pressured to buy right away. Take note of the colors you tried, then go home with your new look. Different lighting can change your opinion of your new look, but also take in the opinions of those around you.
Hot Wardrobe
With the return of the legging on the fashion platform, looking good has never been so easy. Pair them with great tops that flatter your figure. Long shirts, brightly printed blouses, tunics and even short dresses can be worn over these easy to wear leggings.
No matter what fashion choices you make, you want to ensure it is a choice meant for you. It's easy to get caught up in the fabulous look on a mannequin and just imagine how we would look in that same outfit. For most of us the effect won't be quite the same, so it's better to figure out what suits your figure rather than trust that mannequin.
Hot styles don't have to break the bank, you just have to know what works for you and make the most out of a few key items. And if you want to get extra thrifty, try your local thrift shop. Many raise their nose at the notion, but you'd be surprised by what you could find. Five dollars jeans, cute little two-dollar shirts and that sexy eight dollar jacket.
You'll be looking hot in no time and your wallet won't even feel the pinch.

Formal Holiday Fashion and Where to Look For It
Holiday shopping can be as thrilling as the vacation itself, provided you have the confidence that you are looking in all the right places for all the right things.
Sometimes, though, the reality is that you do not know what to buy, how to accessorise your purchases for the climate you are going to, and how to look the part, especially in a formal atmosphere such as on board cruise ships or at ultra expensive hotels.
Much of the time you will probably spend your holiday in casual wear, enjoying the sunshine (or the snow, as the case may be) and having a wonderful, relaxing break. It is so much easier to enjoy yourself, however, if your wardrobe is ready to go and appropriate to whatever you want to do.
For cruise wear, the stress may be removed instantaneously by consulting one of those great dress services that are springing up all over the world. You hire however many outfits you want for the formal occasions you are required to attend, take their advice about the accessories that match and then pick them up, all professionally packed just before your departure date. You return them when you get back, and collect your deposit when the items have been cleaned. Yippee, what could be simpler?
The problems begin when you skip all that and try to shop for formal gowns yourself. Always supposing you find a gown to fit, in a colour you love and that flatters your figure, you then go through hell trying to find shoes and handbags to match, for each and every dress you are taking with you.
Despair sets in quickly and your excitement at going on the holiday of your dreams fades away, to be replaced by disillusionment and 'I wish I had never started this.' Far better to consult an expert on matters of style and colour and leave the problems behind you. They also source formal wear for men as well as ladies.
The problem of cost is always something to consider. Even the wealthiest client begrudges spending huge amounts on an item which may only be worn once and then assigned to moth balls. Spend the money on souvenirs, and trust the professionals to provide your cruise wear next time.

Is Professional Make-Up Advice Worth It?
It can be hard to know where to go to get good make-up advice. Do you spend hours staring blankly at the aisles in the chemist, or do you brave the potential intimidation of the department store make-up counters? How often have you spent hours searching for that new perfect lipstick, futilely testing on the back of your so it ends up resembling a bit of impressionist artwork until yes, that's it, you finally find the perfect lipstick! A mix of excitement and relief wash over you. That is until you get home and realise that you already have a drawer full of exactly the same shade that you never wear. Face it; we've all been there! So what is the best way to get a new make-up look that you know you will wear and feel good in? Personally, until you are confident about what you are looking for I would recommend that you seek make-up advice from a professional beauty expert.
A good make-up consultant should be able to advise you on how to get the best make-up looks to suit you. That means to work not just with your skin-tone, hair and eye colour, but also with your personal style and personality. We all have different approaches to clothes and make-up. There are some who always go for a more natural, relaxed look or those that always follow the latest fashions and want everyone to notice them. Or you may be more of a romantic and like pretty detail on everything, alternatively you may be more classic in your style and less reluctant to change what your comfortable with. Regardless, the way you approach your wardrobe will have an impact on the way you approach make-up. A good make-up consultant should make you feel relaxed and comfortable before being able to advise you on new and different make-up looks and techniques that will really work for you. A new make-up look can be as effective at updating your look as an expensive shopping trip for lots of new clothes.
New shades come and go, as do products and application techniques. The trick is to know how to make it work for you. Bronze smoky looking eye shadows may be the look of the season but it will only make you look great if it suits your colouring and personal style. A trip to a make-up expert needn't cost you much, if anything (although I believe you do tend to get what you pay for, in fact it can be better paying for advice rather than having a 'free' consultation with a 'view to purchase a minimum of £xx amount'). A new eye shadow or pencil can really make the difference. And of course, if you are desperate to find the 'perfect lipstick' you will probably end up saving yourself a fortune in the long run by actually buying one that you will wear!

Trendy Fashion Pointers While Staying Warm This Winter
The full brunt of winter is bearing down on us and the temperatures outside prove it. There is not much you can do to get around the cold either. Pretty much your only option is to protect yourself from the cold by wearing warm clothes and even though you have that basket full of mismatched gloves, scarves and hats, you still would like to look good doing so. Those scattered clothings keep you warm but are not very stylish.
The first rule to dressing for the winter is to make sure everything is warm and dry. The second rule is to make sure you don't look like a hobo trying to stay warm. A common mistake about winter clothes is that people dress monotonous and unstylish. Here are a few tips on staying warm and savvy this winter, without looking like the abominable snowman:
- The first thing you need to think about is what you are wearing on top. Find out about your destination. Will you be spending any time outdoors and how well will the inside be heated. Will it be comfortable or over-whelming? My advice to wear a nice, heavy jacket with a pair of gloves for the cold outside but dress like you normally would for a function underneath. When it's really cold out, fashion is often thrown out the window in exchange for staying warm. Just make sure what you wear under that jacket is suitable to the occasion and with the style.
- No one can be expected to look their best after being outside in the cold elements for an extended period of time. Your best bet is to wear layers of nice clothes under your coat. Wear clothes that that look good but can be bundled up underneath. Wear a warm thermal or sweater underneath your coat if it isn't heavy. This year I've gone with wearing a corduroy jacket with a nice hooded sweatshirt underneath. You could even use this look with a turtle neck sweater.
- Now it is time to make sure the other parts of your body are kept warm now that your body is taken care of. The key to keeping those other exposed areas of your skin warm is find a good pair of gloves, a warm wool hat and a nice scarf. How heavy each of them should be depends on how cold it is out and where you live. Any of these items can be found in retail stores all over the place but I recommend visiting a vintage shop for some original styles.
- Have you taken precautions to keep your hands dry and warm? If you didn't, then you are in for one long, miserable day. When I know that I will be outside for an extended period of time in the cold, I try to stock up on hand warmers. They are placed inside your gloves and are pretty effective. You could even place them inside the pockets of your jackets for some added boost of heat. You won't be sorry.
- It's time to think about keeping your feet warm. It doesn't matter what you are wearing. If your feet are cold, you'll never get warm and it all starts with a pair of thick warm cotton socks. These will keep your feet quite comfortable to go along with a good pair of dry boots or shoes.

Diamond Engagement Ring Styles - Choosing The Ring of Her Dreams
Gosh it's hard isn't it?
Unlike the wedding band or eternity rings there are just so many diamond engagement ring styles that it is hard to know where to start. Do you go for a three ring setting, or a simple solitaire? Does she like sapphires or do her tastes run a little wilder? Do you go for something that is really popular, or is it more about how large the diamond is?
The best advice that I can give you at this point is to forget everything that you thought that you knew about buying gifts. There are theories like 'go with the flow', 'fashion fabulous' and 'bigger is better' that simply do not apply when choosing your engagement ring. In fact take it from me, to base your choice of ring on today's fashion trends would be risky, even foolhardy. Your precious ring is far more important than that.
Choose a Ring Especially for Her.
When looking at diamond engagement ring styles your first thoughts should be about your partner, what she would want, the lifestyle that she leads and how you feel about each other.
Think of her day to day routine and style. If she wears a lot of jewelry and loves to sparkle then maybe a three stone ring or a solitaire that has a lavish pave' setting would suit her. If she has more refined tastes then I bet that keeping it simple with a spectacular solitaire diamond would be appreciated.
You can get diamond engagement ring styles that have a variety of patterned engravings for those that like a more antique look or there are rings whose centerpiece are tension set to give the illusion of a 'floating' diamond. Modern band designs also compliment the modern woman who likes to stand out.
If your lady loves color in her life, then adding gemstones like sapphires, emeralds or rubies to your ring will certainly delight her.
The Band
When it comes to the band, think of her hands and fingers. A woman with long slender fingers will suit a ring with a smaller band width, whereas a woman with thicker fingers will suit a thicker band that will compliment them.
Your Budget
Your budget also plays a part and this can actually impact on the success of your proposal and future marriage. Have a realistic budget and stick to it. There are some spectacular diamond engagement ring styles that really don't cost too much, but that look like a million bucks. Trust me; she will love your ring far more if it doesn't put any financial pressure on you both.
Make It Match
One other thing to bear in mind when looking at diamond engagement ring styles is your wedding ring. Both your engagement rings and your wedding rings will have to match styles and metals, so don't think that you can go all out and buy a platinum engagement ring that is ornately decorated if you are not prepared to follow through with a platinum, ornately decorated wedding band.
The most important thing is to really consider her and to be honest when choosing your ring. The last thing that you want is for her to feel self conscious about wearing it. Your precious ring should fit nicely on her finger, be as much a part of her life as you are and if you have got it right it will still give her the 'warm fuzzies' even after 10 years of wearing it.

Conformism and Style
The word conformism has a bad reputation. Merely saying the word calls to mind the mindless architecture of American suburbs, programmed drones with barcodes on their foreheads, little German schoolchildren goosestepping into a nightmare. To conform is to lose yourself and let society win.
Of course, no one thinks, or wants to admit, that they conform to anything, except maybe the traffic laws. But we all do so, in large and small ways, most of which we don't realize.
To "conform" is to "comply with rules, standards or laws." It also means "to behave according to socially acceptable conventions or standards," that is, the unwritten laws of any community or group. A conforming object is "similar in form or type."
It's this last meaning that most people object to, and for good reason. Uncritical conformism has serious drawbacks. Few people want to be mediocre. They object, I think reasonably, to institutions like forced schooling, which aim to reduce all people to the same, safe level, which try to make them aspire to some dull ideal they haven't chosen for themselves. Most people don't want to obey laws which aren't made for their benefit, especially when they protect the haves against the have-nots.
For better or worse, we all obey some unwritten rules in our day-to-day lives. Let me give you an example. Have you ever seen pictures of a fashion show where the models were dressed like flowerpots, or walking acid trips, or a heap of fabric scraps? Your gut reaction was probably a mixture of disbelief and derision. What, is some rich person actually gonna buy that crap? Is flowerpot the new black? Part of this reaction comes from how strange these looks are. They don't conform to any recognized standard of dress. They're not useful in social intercourse, except maybe in some martian society.
Now imagine a successful business executive. Chances are slim to none that you would ever see him or her in baggy jeans and a "Big Dawg" t-shirt. In order to succeed they have to project the accepted image of a business executive, which usually means a three-piece suit, a shirt and tie. Even when they're working out, getting ready for bed, or going swimming, their outfits will unconsciously fulfill the expectations of their peers, their spouse, and their family.
What's true of business executives is also true of young people. A hipster outfit meets the expectations of their social group; it is "predictably unpredictable," from the black frames of their glasses to the tightness of their pants. The more one deviates from this "unwritten code of dress," the more "ironic" the look must become, or the wearer will receive the kind of glances a man used to receive for pairing brown shoes with a black suit.
These unwritten laws exist in every society and community. If you don't want to conform, you have two options: remain a nonconformist, or find a group with less objectionable codes. As far as I know, there is no such thing as a social group, or job, or city, where everything is permitted and everyone is accepted. More to the point, who would want to inhabit such a place?
This may or may not depress you. My only advice is to find people who resemble who you want to be, and make them your friends. Find people whose strengths counterbalance your weaknesses. Above all, try to find a community and a place where you can be yourself without feeling too much ambient resistance or disapproval, unless you enjoy resistance and disapproval.

Beauty and Fashion Tips For Plus Sized Women
It doesn't matter if you are skinny and tall, short, or if you are a plus sized woman - you can look incredibly beautiful and really turn some heads, if you simply had a few tools and tips to work with! Celebs like Delta Burke have clearly shown us that even plus sized women can be beautiful and stylish. The trick is in knowing what clothes to wear, what colors to chose from, and what accessories to wear. When choosing your wardrobe, the whole cliche about "black covering up fat" isn't necessarily true.
If you look good in dark colors, awesome. Don't listen to me! However, choosing the same colors for jackets and pants that are the same hue is also a really good idea as well because you aren't sectioning off areas. It's all ONE area which makes you look sinner. You can also wear blouses in a contrasting color as well if you needed to add a flair of drama to the outfit. When choosing colors and pattern think vertical not horizontal. Bold buttons down the jacket or shirt, a long necklace, vertical stripes - these are all ways to think vertical and they can help tremendously! It's also important to wear colors that you feel good in.
Don't like red? Don't wear it! Love blue? Slap it on or add accents such as a shirt, or a necklace or a scarf. You can always tie in colors, you don't necessarily have to have "loud" colors on in order to look better. In fact, I prefer not to wear loud colors. I stay away from pink, oranges and yellows at all cost! There is one thing that a lot of plus sized women do - they don't wear the right sizes. If you are an eighteen don't try fitting into a sixteen! All this ends up doing is accentuating those areas where you don't want it to accentuate!
For example, if you don't like your butt, and you buy a really tight pair of jeans, chances are your butt is going to look larger, so if this is something you want to avoid, then don't wear tight jeans! Same goes with shirts or dresses as well! If you are out shopping someplace and you aren't sure about a specific size or outfit or piece of clothing - ask the sales girl. These girls are more than likely willing to give their advice about any fashion tips you need. Been there done that myself! You could also take a friend along with you as well if you are too embarrassed to ask a sales person to give you advice.
Most friends will be brutally honest about how you look, some are not. If you have a variety of friends pick the honest one! Also, if you like wearing jewelry, try to follow the "wear the right size" cliche above. Don't wear tiny little earrings or necklaces. Try wearing things like chunky bracelets like bangles, or long flowing necklaces! So you see just because you are a plus sized woman doesn't mean you have to feel embarrassed or "out of place". I believe that all women are equally attractive in their own ways.
And a lot of people are going to look past the outside, and see the inside. This is what I try to remind myself when I'm having a bad hair day or something of the likes. If they don't look inside and all they care about is your looks? It's not a person you would want to have in your life anyway. YOU are beautiful just the way you are and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

Summer and Fall Hot New Fashions
What is your style? Guys, are you more of a professional classy dresser or are you a hip hop skater type dresser? Ladies are you more of a conservative type dresser or do you like to show off your bodies but still look classy at the same time?
In this article I am going to tell you what I have noticed in the latest new fashions being worn today. I will also note what will be worn in the near future during the summer and fall fashion. First, I will address the guys that like the style of the professional classy category. I have noticed that polo's and khaki shorts have always been the style for this category but I have noticed a difference in the way they are designed and worn. I have been noticing a lot of long sleeve colored shirts being worn with the sleeves rolled up as well as instead of buying khaki shorts I have seen a lot of khaki pants being cut into shorts. It seems that the extra short shorts are in this summer.
Also I have noticed a lot of v necks being worn with the new stylish pocket designs on them. Of course in the summer time tank tops are always in but I have noticed a trend of very bright colors. These colors include more than just your standard blue in red, and more like pink yellow and light blue. When it comes to parties and clubs vests with v neck or button ups has really been a hit this summer as well. Mostly solid blue and black vests are the most popular but switch it up if you'd like. Shoe styles are too hard to tell but I have been seeing a lot of brand made moccasins being worn and look alike chucks Taylors being the most stylish causal shoe.
Now when it comes the hip hop skater look for men, there is a lot to consider. Let's talk about pants and jeans first. The new style for jeans is fitted jeans also known as skinny jeans. The most popular colors I have seen this summer are tan, white, blue and red combinations of caches and fitted jeans. As for shorts, I have been seeing a lot of new style shorts that look similar to swim trunks almost. They are adding a lot of patterns and designs to the shorts to make their style look unique as well. I have also seen a lot of plain cache shorts being worn as well. The most popular colors range from dark blue, black and tan.
T shirts and tanks are next. In this fashion style there have been a lot of unique designs of t shirts. Unfortunately there are too many styles to determine which is most popular but as for the top colors I was able to figure that part out. I have noticed that the most common colors are light blue, orange, black, and white. When it comes to hats, snapbacks are what everyone is wearing. I have noticed that the most popular hats are underground clothing artist in this category of fashion. For example a lot of people are wearing snapbacks that have sayings on them like high, boss, fame, and other hip new sayings like that. Sports team snapbacks are not really the style right now but you can be your own trendsetter and do what you want. I personally like sports hats and continue to wear them whether they are in style or not. Lastly underwear and socks are surprisingly in. Socks and underwear with clothing lines symbols or names printed all over them are now trendy and everyone seems to love it.
Now let's switch over to the ladies style starting with the conservative fashion. I have noticed that a lot of high wasted jeans and skirts are really in this summer. Wearing cut t shirts with them but barely showing any stomach or cleavage is definitely one of the hottest looks today in the conservative fashion. Also long dresses with sandals and light accessories are also a hot new trend this summer. One piece bathing suits and bathing suits with strings hanging from the top are the new thing at every beach and pool this summer and I feel will be a hit for quite some time. A lot of vintage jackets, sweaters, and vests I have seen also to be hot at night time gathering, parties, and night clubs, etc.
When switching over to the not as conservative side there is a lot more things that are new out there. There are a lot of different types of slightly revealing dresses and shirts that are popular that are somewhat revealing but still classy at the same time. What I have noticed the most this summer is the high wasted shorts with short t shirts that show your belly button. This is one of the hottest looks walking at the beach, going to barbecue's, and pool parties. When it comes to the club scene I have noticed a lot of dresses with see through tops that so some cleavage but still covers the private areas of the body but still look very fashionable and beautiful. I have also been noticing high heels with gold silver and white spikes on them. Color wise I have been seeing a lot of solid white black and murine colors for dresses and skirts. Accessories wise there is just a lot of bracelets rings and watches at one time. In my opinion its almost overdone but it definitely get the males attention so if that's what you are looking for than that's my advice. In this category it's still hard to really tell what the real hottest fashion is but these are definitely some of the choices that are high up there.

Fashion and Success - Starting a Retail Clothing Store
If you have the passion for clothes and style and a desire to manage and grow a small business, then starting a retail clothing store could be a good and worthwhile enterprise. However, being aware of the trend is not enough. You have to take into account that venturing into a business and ensuring its success is not easy, it takes a lot of good entrepreneurial skills and an excellent marketing plan.
In the clothing industry, the competition is really tough and you must keep an open mind and be creative to survive. Though every business is considered a gamble, following effective marketing techniques will surely help you drive sales and profit and will even ensure the success of your business.
There are several simple tips you can follow to establish your clothing business and increase its productivity. Before starting a retail clothing store, you should build up a concept of your store by creating a good business plan. This plan includes required start-up expenses and sales strategies.
Decide what will the focus of your marketing effort. You have to define whether you focus on women's clothing, men's apparel, kids' apparel, formal event dresses or hippie clothes. Apart from that, understanding competition models is also important to move ahead. Careful planning is really crucial when it comes to clothing industry because most of the business competitors aim to have an absolute monopoly in the marketplace.
The next step you should largely consider is to solicit advice from a business lawyer to incorporate your business. You should accomplish tax obligations and you also need to register the name of your business. Then you have to find the best location for your store. The site that receives a lot of foot and drive-by traffic is ideal as it guarantees more potential costumers. Convenient parking is also necessary since costumers do not want to visit places where they will have a hard time parking their cars. Choose the most appropriate décor for your store and make sure that items are well-organized and attractively displayed to catch the attention of potential buyers.
In starting a clothing retail store you should determine how you will purchase the clothes you are going to sell. You can choose whether you will create your own designs and produce your own clothes or you can look for a signature clothing line or a wholesale clothing manufacturer. If you cannot completely finance your business or ask any support from your family, you can apply for business loans. If you have already established your business, let potential clients know about it by having an opening day celebration. You can also endorse your products through leaflets and newspaper ads. Promoting your business online is also an effective strategy to gain quick access to your target market.
